Iserlohner Snuffbox

One of the absolutely rare Iserlohn snuffboxes 1759-1761; the glorious battle of Minden, with the bust of "Duke Ferdinand von Braunschweig" the oldest versions of which were made by J.H. Giese. However, Giese produced this snuffboxes in two versions: the first variant, the box most often found on the collectors' market, the tendrils and decorations are a bit lavish and rich than in the second variant. In this, almost identical box, the tendrils are a little more discreet. The floor embossing with the medallion of King Friedrich II and the "Prussian eagle stamp" affixed underneath is also very rare. Despite normal signs of use and a successful repair on the hinge from 1769 (the year is thinly legible), this snuffbox is in an absolutely good condition. The embossing is also clearly visible and legible. Deko not for sale!
