Baroque Iserlohn snuffbox 1755-1757, with the saying "IK VAAR GELYK EN HALD....". Most snuffboxes of this type were made by Giese, Hamer and Lohman with minor modifications. The snuffboxes made by Keppelmann are somewhat rarer to find. Its embossing is also somewhat finer. This snuffbox has the original base replaced very cleanly. The engraving AW with the year 1771 can still be seen very faintly. Despite the absence of the original bottom with its embossing, the embossing of the lid is exceptionally well preserved. Very nice overall condition. Deko not for sale !
