Antique Baroque Snuffbox
A very old Baroque snuffbox, made of papier-mâché/vernis martin, with black paint and polychrome decoration. The lid depicts a nobleman lying on the ground, smoking from a long clay pipe. Despite normal signs of wear, this almost three-hundred-year-old snuffbox is in very good overall condition. Continental Europe, 1730-50.
