Antique Snuffbox

Antique snuffbox, black lacquered paper. On the lid is a Rembrandt-style portrait painted in oil. The portrait depicts a cardinal reading a book. It is accompanied by a handwritten note about the snuffbox's lineage and the snuffbox's former owner, the Rev. "Henry Jeremy Hale" in England. The snuffbox was probably made in Germany between 1790 and 1810. In very good condition. Deko not for sale !
