A Beautifully Preserved Antique Snuffbox

A beautifully preserved antique snuffbox, made of papier-mâché, lacquered black and finely painted with the portrait of Napoleon I as Holy Roman Emperor. Continental Europe, 1805-1813. Only minor signs of wear; otherwise, this snuffbox is in excellent condition. What makes this box special is that the artist left his mark on the upper left edge of the lid, a rare feature on papier-mâché snuffboxes. Deko not for sale!
