Mull Snuffbox

Mull Snuffbox, Scotland between 1790-1830. What had been in the alpine areas the Sterzinger Horn snuffboxes, had been in Scotland the Mull snuffboxes. Both enjoyed great popularity among their populations in their home countries and pointed to a great craftmanship in the processing of horn as well as other materials in their respective folk customs. This Mull box is made of straight horn with robust silver and leather seal. It closes tight and is in a very beautiful condition. Deko not for sale !
