Antique Antler Pipe

Antique antler pipe, Germany-Thuringia 1840-60, rare hunter pipe made from the antlers of a deer. Attributed to one of the most important and famous horn carvers from Germany in the 19th century, Wilhelm Schulz 1774-1863 from Meiningen / Thuringia. The bottom of the antler rosette is designed in the shape of a shell, gilded brass fitting, on the lid a medallion with the image of the goddess of the hunt "Diana". Mouthpiece and hose connection artfully made from turned horn. The very flexible pipe tube (the so-called swing piece) has a diameter of 30 mm, which is extremely rare for pipes. The original, laterally integrated, finely-turned pipe clearer has also been preserved. Very good and very well-kept condition. Deko not for sale!
