Silver snuffbox in the shape of a cartouche, hallmarked, from the time of George II / III 1750-1770, the lid is made of carved mother-of-pearl; On the left half is a reading gentleman in Baroque costume, on the right a landscape with tree and bird, in the middle of the snuffbox is a bordered polished red agate.
The body of the box is engraved inlaid with floral ornaments, on the bottom of the snuffbox is an owner engraving with the letters S and J. From inside the tobacco box has been gilded; despite the small tension crack in the mother of pearl the snuffbox is in a very good condition and closes tightly.
