Small Baroque Snuffbox

Small baroque snuffbox, continental European (presumably Germany / France) between 1740-1760, wood turned and cream-colored (originally white); on gilded underground a charming portrait of a lady was painted with floral decorations. This type and size of cans has been used by Rococo ladies not only for snuff, but also for the storage of beauty patches that was fashionable in the ladies' world at that time. Very nice condition.
