Baroque Snuffbox

Baroque snuffbox copper and brass, in this material combination (large shape and craftsmanship) this type is rarely found. Iserlohn area between 1720-1750, according to the shape and production method. The lid and bottom of the snuffbox are embedded with fine brass inlays, which are decorated with very fine engravings for the "praise of Christianity / the baptism of Jesus Christ". These were fixed from the inside with fine tin-plating. Despite the signs of use, the snuffbox is in an absolutely very nice condition. A wonderful contemporary document of old German craftsmanship.
