Case for clay pipe tobacco
Rare and very well-preserved brass case for a clay pipe, tobacco and a compartment for matches with an associated rubbing surface. England, dated 1847. In the period between 1760 and 1850, this type of combination case (similar to the Iserlohn snuffboxes in Germany) was extremely popular. These types of antique pipes and tobacco cases have become very rare on the collectors market. Deko not for sale!
