Baroque Snuffbox

Very high quality and rare baroque snuffbox, enamel on copper with solid silver frame and fine silver interior lining. Very fine polychrome (full-side) hand-painted decoration in blue/green/yellow colors. The very fine bas reliefs were additionally covered with real gold and thus raised three-dimensionally. German, Berlin/Prussia between 1725-1730. Only light floor wear. Very good and beautiful overall condition. These types of Berlin snuffboxes are very rare to find on the collector's market and are considered small gems in the emerging Prussian handicrafts of the time.
