Antique Baroque Snuffbox

Antique baroque snuffbox from the Iserlohn area. Pre-coinage period 1720-1750. Embossed copper and brass and engraved with a hunting scene on the lid. The bottom of the lid is designed with the saying "In the green forest, my stay, there can be the crickets, the tobacco (stillen)" which is bordered with a tendril motif on both sides. Only slight signs of use. Very nice overall condition. Deko not for sale!
